You might wonder what some of the abbreviations that you see in the curly community mean, like CG, KCCC, or EVOO. I'll post a list of them right here that you can refer to whenever you like!
- EVOO: Extra Virgin Olive Oil
- LI: Leave in conditioner
- CG: Curly Girl. Click here for more info.
- 2a, 2b, 2c, 3a, 3b, 3c, 4a, 4b, or 4c: all curl types. Click here for more info.
- Clarify: To remove buildup from the hair
- Clumping: Strands of hair joining together to form larger, thicker curls
- Co-wash: Washing with conditioner instead of shampoo
- Condish: Conditioner
- SOTC: "Scrunch out the crunch" from gel or other styling products that leave a cast
- DT: Deep treatment (moisturizing)
- PT: Protein treatment (strenghtening
- Plop/Plopping: a method of drying hair that involves wrapping your hair in a towel
- Pixie diffuse: a method of diffusing in which you dry sections of a time, scrunching a section up to your head in the diffuser, turning it on, and turning it off before you move to the next section
- Scrunch: to cup hair in your hands and bring it upwards, squeezing gently
- Porosity, texture, or curl type: Read this
